He was friendly but he was literally there for like an hour after the game started but then he was gone. His brother died in a car accident.
Also he made a two man alliance with Tom which was an awful idea, it was pretty clear from Tom's messages he was unaware of what was going on in the game (bad spelling, bad punctuation, bad capitalization, short messages, didn't seem like he knew what he was talking about). He did message a few people early but what he said sounded like he was a robot if that makes any sense. For example he said "I'd like to open the lines of communication" and "I'm going to sign off for the night" which to me just seems like really strange things to say haha.

I think one of my many problems was that I never knew who to trust and because of that I only ever had minor connections with 1 or 2 people groups after the tribe swap.
How did you get that many people to trust you without telling them too much and having them go and tell someone else?
I was never really in an alliance with Lindsey or Linda preswap/premerge, but I talked a lot with both of them about other things like seasons of Survivor, politics, players we liked... for me I was interested in talking about them all so I was being genuine when I sent them. I didn't bring up strategy though until the swap right after the General vote, when seemingly Frank and I were the only vulnerable people tonight, so I teamed up with Linda (who trusted me because we had talked so much and she knew I was a pretty honest person from our convos) and we ended up voting Frank that night. I was always a bit wary about bringing up strategy with either of them because Frank said them two + Kim P. had a final 3 alliance for awhile and that made sense to me since they didn't bring up strategy with me either. :p Linda didn't want to see me voted out because we were friends so that's why we ended up joining Sean/V going into the merge. Plus they seemingly had both idols, so it seemed like a good idea at the time (and I think it was considering Sean, I and her all made it pretty far, just sucks Sean/I got voted out because we were threats :p) Plus Frank messed up by not getting Sean to play his fake idol, which I still am wondering why he played up that act (I'll explain it below):
So Linda and I were annoyed at Frank that night for various reasons - we didn't like his plan to get Mariche to throw the challenge before he did it, and then when he did he couldn't participate in the # counting challenge which Linda was awful at haha. But she was the only one there and if she hadn't participated we would have had to auto-forfeit. After the swap Linda and I lobbied for a Sean vote but Frank told Kim J. to vote for General because it was the safer vote. And that would have been fine, except Sean posted pictures of the two "idols" he had (both were fake) and claimed if somebody voted Linda that night (the 3 Mariches were voting Linda) he would give them the idol, and he said he knew the vote was probably for him. Then Frank for some reason played up the act like he was voting Linda, pretty convincingly. So Sean ended up not playing either "idol", then General got eliminated and he had both idols for the next vote for him and V, and with Linda having immunity and Kim J. having Cacique it seemed like Frank and I were the only 2 guys vulnerable at the next vote. If Frank hadn't played up that act then Sean would have been forced into a tough spot because he thought the votes were for him but neither of his idols were genuine. After that vote Frank was talking to Kim J/Linda/I and acted like he had saved Linda's life
so Linda and I were annoyed at him and with the next vote being seemingly me or him, neither one of us trusted Frank because he always seemed a bit on the shady side. Neither of us expected his plan to work (contracts???) and we both expected Frank to vote me at the next tribal to save his own life. Which he ended up doing anyway. That's why we voted him that day, neither of us trusted him plus we seemingly could keep both idols. And Sean/Vecepia were chill. I guess what I'm getting at is long conversations develop bonds in a way. :p
I talked with Lindsey after the merge about our previous conversations still but I did bring up strategy a lot more than I had premerge (in fact premerge the only thing I can remember talking to Lindsey about that was strategy-related was he told me he had told Tom to vote for Diane the night Diane got voted out). I talked with everybody a lot except for Sarah, Kim P, and you after the merge, because Sarah seemed like she was practically toast, Kim P and I never got a conversation started (1-3 line messages) and when Linda organized the 8 man alliance, you weren't in it and I had no idea what had happened at nuMariche so I was wary about talking to you. Plus you had been pissed at Linda for losing the immunity challenge and Linda was one of my closest allies at that point.
That was how Gabe and I became close, from talking with each other. I also had long conversations with Pat and Gina (although my messages to Gina were a bit shorter than the messages I ever sent to anyone else) and the more I talked with people about legitimate conversations they just felt like they could trust me more, so they did. Although all of my conversations were genuine, and the time I spent putting into conversations with everybody was also genuine, I barely talk to anyone IRL and I type at 110 words per minute on a laptop so talking to people like I did accomplished two things - talking to people in the first place (just for fun because I have almost no friends who actively watch Survivor) and becoming likeable/trust(able?) I was straight up to almost everybody who I talked to because I didn't talk very much strategy and I'm sure people like you noticed because someone said I was seen as Linda's pet or something like that. So I easily got a reputation for being honest/likeable, because it's easy to be honest when you don't talk strategy much. :p And people enjoyed talking with me (and vice versa).
I didn't talk with Linda about anything except strategy though after the merge happened though and I think that's part of the reason she ended up voting me out. :[ People were beginning to target me before that though anyways because they *thought* I would sweep the jury (which I was sure I never would have, I don't even know if I would have won), and just didn't do it beforehand apparently (Gina said something along those lines, not targeting me because I had too many friends early). And others didn't want to vote me out because they liked me.
The two most notable things I don't like are talking to somebody who clearly doesn't care about making a conversation/is unreasonable to talk to and if me or a friend gets screwed unfairly from my perspective. That's why I don't mind talking to you or Sarah now but two other people in particularly don't like me because I don't really like them, honestly. I know I'm going to get bashed for saying both of those but it's the truth, that's why I spoke up during challenges and why I was so irritated when I got eliminated from the face posting challenge because I didn't get a second chance for something that was clearly wrong with the challenge, it's like running a 100m sprint but your lane has a small unnoticeable puddle in it, most people would probably step over it if it was small but there's the minority of people (me) who get screwed because the puddle is there, and "it's fair because it could have happened to anyone" it only happens to people who used case-sensitive methods of searching which is why I got screwed but Lindsey would not have gotten screwed. I don't get irritated often and I'm sure people can vouch for that but when one of the two things above happen (or both) I definitely get annoyed.
I guess what I'm getting at is basically showing people you want to talk with them instead of giving half-assed replies like some people do helps get them to trust you later on when you DO want to talk strategy. And while I didn't do it this season because it didn't cross my mind until about halfway through, it's nearly always better to ask someone what they want to do instead of telling them what you want to do for obvious reasons, it's pretty safe from a strategical standpoint. Unless you ask everybody that.
Keep in mind though I genuinely wanted to talk with people so it's easy for me to show people I want to talk with them (I simply do it). However for people who type slowly it might be harder to have long conversations with people. :p I look for topics to ask them about, or people ask me about topics, and I try to delve into as many of them as I want to talk about, which is usually most or all of them. Especially talking about Survivor because I rarely talk about it to people at home since nobody watches it. Talking about past Survivor seasons on a Survivor ORG is a pretty failproof topic. (Is failproof a word? I always thought it was but apparently it isn't according to Google.)
I didn't really talk much with you but I can't remember why, if you sent short messages that's probably it.
