It is a rare rare situation where I
wouldn't go to rocks. You have to have faith in your allies to have your back and not flip, and faith in your enemies to pussy out and flip lol.
In Refuge, I waited till PMs were off for TC then gave up immunity to do just that. I say fuck it, force people to play in public

The eventual winner in Catalie woulda gone home that night otherwise. <3 On the downside, of you are tha hardcore dedicated to your alliance it's bad news news letting the "other side" know about it.
Moral of the story, always be willing to go to rocks, and make sure your allies are too.
I have only played a few games where PMs go off at TC, and I love it. I kind of hate it too in a way because I loathe answering questions at TC, but it definitely provides a more realistic TC experience. Like you giving away immunity, people shouldn't be able to just PM each other after that, they should have to play in public as you say.
Idk that there is a downside. It would be situation dependent imo, but at f6 or so who cares? By then most everything is pretty obv anyway as far as where loyalties lie. And you're generally sticking to you 3 at that point if you win rocks anyway. as long as its a f3.
I still think its a tough situation to go to rocks at a 2-1 disadvantage(which is what I did when I drew the bad rock). But really at that point not going to rocks wasn't really an attractive option, so I mainly regret not doing something about a round sooner.
Also in that 4-4-4, then 6-6 how come the 3 that got votes in that 4-4-4 revoted? Is that how it always works in Stranded?
