Can you guys at least read the PM to me (if enabling PMs is not an option) that Linda sent me
after I had boarded my plane? I never got to read it and for me it's important I do because it will definitely affect my vote at the final tribal council.
Linda wrote:Mia wrote:So, my questioning is wrong then, Linda? A normal person would scoff at this notion, but as I host, I only see a question opportunity!
So why don't you tell me WHERE I'm wrong. Are certain pairs planning on splitting up? Is there a hidden deal that we don't know about? Or what?
I can say confidently that at least one pair is not as strong as they think. A heartfealt plea sent before someone went on a plane proved that
I think she thinks I read it, and I never did. I was literally boarding my plane as I sent her my last reply and you are required to have wireless turned on when you're on board.

*You are required to have wireless turned OFF when you're onboard a plane. As soon as I sent her my reply I had to shut off wifi because I was stepping onto the plane.

I probably shouldn't say, but this is the exception since you had such a bitch of a boot. The message you are looking for doesn't exist. You have seen all the below already, but this is the last of the conversation between you two outside of that group PM (which you also sent the final response in)
General boarding for my plane has just called and I don't have much time, I will hopefully be able to go online at Calgary, but I sent another group message haha, take a look if you'd like to :P.
It really sucks I won't be at the challenge tonight, I don't know if I will be at tribal (reasons for this explained in the group message) but the one last thing I haven't mentioned is Sean was literally on his desthbed last tribal when he said all of that, I truly have no idea if he was being honest with it but he knew if he didn't do something he would be voted out, I was not very involved in strategy until ~F8 after Lindsey betrayed you. I have to board now so I'll hopefully talk to you at Calgary, if there is no internet there all I can say (yet again) is I have no doubt Gina will win the game if she isn't voted out (I've explained the votes already.)
Hope to see/talk to you soon haha.
Lex
(I apologize if I'm being naggy, but you can understand why.)
oh I definitely understand why. You have NOTHING to apologize for.
I am being honest with you because you have been honest with me all game and you deserve it. Trust me when I say if I did vote you out it would be the hardest thing I've had to do all game. And if I do, you will know beforehand.
I am leaning towards Gina tonight though, because like you have said, she is the biggest challenge threat and likely wins if she makes the end
So that's actually my plan tonight as of right now. I hope you have a good flight :)
I don't know if Lindsey/Gina would take you over Gabe either :/ it might be a 2-2 tie.
And thanks :3 I'm about to board my flight to Vegas. See you in awhile (hopefully!)
Apart from that, there is nothing else. You're just gonna have to go with your gut / your FTC question / the final juror's info to make up your mind.

Also before you ask, that's all you're getting. I'm already well outside the hostie handbook on this one and I don't think Jeff woulda been this lenient.
Good luck with your decision.

Thanks for that. I really don't understand what Linda was referring to, she must have sent someone else (Gabe probably) a message right before I boarded or something like that, because she didn't let me "know beforehand" I was getting voted out. -_-
I know what questions I'm going to ask at FTC (although they have changed a bit after reading this), I'm excited for it but at the same time sad that I got eliminated in such an awful/unlucky manner. I was being far, far too passive when I sent those messages right after the Sean boot, but I think Linda's mind was pretty much already made up anyway, so what can one do?
I played to save the people I liked (notably Lindsey and Linda) and it cost me in the end because those two voted me out... if I ever play again I'm certainly using Sandra's strategy.
I'm laying in bed at 2:30 am due to a combination of insomnia, sleeping on the flights, getting up at 4 am, having an awful day and reflecting on this game I played... and I have a seminar tomorrow at 8 to go to :/
There were a lot of things I could have said to Linda that I didn't, but I don't know if it would have ultimately changed her vote to Gina. Do you hosts ever critique our gameplay if we ask? I'd love to hear your opinion on it.
Not Mia's though, all I'll get is some "grammar nazi" gibberish :p
The more I ponder this game the more I think Sandra's strategy is the best.

Among all of that I never got to talk to her at Calgary because my flight to Calgary was delayed and I was sprinting to catch my connection flight. Seriously, curse my luck... what are the chances of something going so horribly wrong like it did today? It's irritating but it's laughably funny because it's so improbable.
I still can't sleep though.

I played too noticeably for some people ("you are far and away the most liked person here" "...everyone fell in love eith you"), too unnoticeably for others (in Ponderosa there are some people who say I was seen as Linda's puppet), I was not the swing vote when I needed to be and depended on others way too much instead of having others depend on me, in some ways my game was a bit backwards in respects to what Sandra does and therefore what I should have been doing... Sandra's play style is proven to work time and again and it even would have worked better with me because neither of us are good at challenges LOL... but then again I was sandbagging a bit early because I wanted to not be seen as a challenge threat so I could streak the last few, but obviously an airplane flight came up and I was never able to put that part of my plan into action =/

You will find other areas of the board unlocked when the game wraps. There is a host's blogging area (which admittedly is a little light this Season, but there's some stuff in it), and there is the Lurker's Lounge, where we feeds the former players (alumni) scraps of confessional and insight and they root for and against there faves and critique you similar to the audience - I mean they don't quite have the full picture, doesn't mean they will hold back their opinions :P
So yes there are opinions, valid or no. But the game is still afoot here.
Of course now you're a part of the Stranded Family, you are free to join in for future games, or if you are really interested, go back and check out the past few Seasons. (Only the last five or so still exist, the first 13 or so got lost when Probst's server crashed ;__; )

Btw "they root for and against their faves" is supposed to be "their faves".
I noticed the lurker posts going up and knew there had to be some area where they all posted haha. But they can't see PMs and confessionals like you can, so their opinion is far different than what you can offer. I wasn't (IMO) a UTR player but I barely posted in tribal (to avoid antagonizing anyone) and the lurkers surely will think I'm not doing anything in terms of strategy. But you guys can see PMs and I knew for a long time, so your advice (should you choose to give it) would be much more relatable than advice someone from the outside watching 1/4 of the game would be able to say.
Throughout the game I definitely changed a lot, I remember my first few days/the first week and a bit when I was extremely paranoid about getting blindsided haha, and worked my way to where I just was from that beginning, it's something to be proud of but I know my gameplay had faults, like not recognizing the idols, not voting out Frank earlier which would have gained General as an ally, keeping my friends in the game longer even though they were also my enemies... being too passive except for when someone makes a capitalization error...
I wanted to play passive-assertive because this way I wouldn't be seen as a threat but I also had a viable argument in terms of strategy, and the way I did that was by laying out the options we had (for example, at the Kim P. vote I listed the pros and cons of the votes we could make) without calling one myself, and if someone made a selection I disagreed with I explained why it wasn't a good idea. In doing this I wasn't labeled as the ringleader because I wasn't commanding my alliance to do things. However Sean is a smart cookie and knew what I was doing both socially and strategically, derp.
Would you be willing to give advice (after the season if waiting is necessary)? I definitely want to hear it from someone who knows exactly what is going on in my head, like me, but giving advice to myself can only go so far...
Also at the start of your message it is "areas" not "area's".
I'd definitely love to join any future games, this is really an enjoyable thing to do and I really can't wait to start over, surely you saw how long my PMs were and how much of a summary I posted of my strategy in Ponderosa =) I tried to view past seasons but the boards were always blank, I'd need special permissions for that.
Thanks for all the help.

I wanted to come across as a relatable person in the game so I used smileys a lot of the time/things like that. But in actuality I'm a very emotionless person (I've had people tell me I'm like a robot or ask me if I'm a robot, and friends sometimes call me Spok from star trek - I haven't seen that show so I have no idea who that is, but apparently he is emotionless or something...) and my true serious nature was most shown when I posted a summary of my perspective in Ponderosa. But that doesn't mean I don't like to joke around :3

It's Spock, not Spok

Apart from All-Stars or returnee shots in Stranded, there are plenty of other
similar games once you know where to look. For instance, Mia here runs her own series called Crashcourse. At any given time there are at least three or four games running somewhere on the interwebs that I'd personally know of.
For instance, this game just wrapped where I was hosting too;

So you coulda played a cold emotionless game to see how that approach would work out :P
They are different though. Different atmosphere, different formats, different themes, a whole different approach in most cases. You are lucky to have found Stranded for your first game. It really is unique. Here we prefer people to play as themself behind whatever avatar, while there's a lot more roleplay in others. Plus people get jaded after so many games too, not as invested, or willing to throw away their games because they're ten apenny :/
I will talk to you more after other avenues after the game wraps up, but for now, focus on this one. There's still a way to go.
(Plus Jeff will kill me for semi-advertising series that aren't this one

)

I created an account on the main stranded website but I can't view past seasons, there's no topics and they're all blank. :[ I tried logging in using Lex as a username and it didn't let me in.
This is me:

The FTC votes will definitely be 4-5, everyone is voting for their alliance member :/ it's irritating, Sean/V/me/Pat are the ones with the logical arguments and Sarah/Kim P/Kim J are all acting very rude and childish, with the way things are going it will be a 5-4 vote for Lindsey unless Gina or Clarence change their votes to Gabe :/ I can only hope Gabe's FTC stuns them all...
If Lindsey wins the game I will be sorely disappointed with our jury.

Does that include talking to you about certain things 1:1 ?
