Player Spec: Clarence

I'm posting Clarence and the General today because they are both similarly positioned. Both are pretty good socially and reaping some rewards for it, but neither is quite in the core they think they are. Clarence of course, has more breathing space with two wins so far icon_razz

But the big difference between them is how General is generally trusting and good-natured and seeing the good in everyone, Clarence is a sneaky divil icon_laughing Not an out-and-out villain, just a little mischievous icon_shifty He has a healthy level of paranoia though, and is willing to work to figure out where exactly he really stands at any point.

These are old but the best snippets into his plays;

Clarence wrote:The perks of being a leader seem great, but I wouldn't want the target on my back this early on. Though, the support our leader has received does trouble me. Everyone seems to like her. That isn't good for me. I need to either get on her good side fast or risk being one of the first to go.

So far I've been trying to subtly turn people against her. Asking some of the woman if it makes her the Alpha female in the tribe or are one of them holden to that title. I'll been asking people questions about her immunity, see how they feel about her potentially using it and so forth.

Clarence wrote:I just started a forum game in the guise of building tribe unity it. It's an opinion based game that I hope splits open some fissures and lets me see where people opinions on past survivor winners and on those in the tribe who disagree with them. I'm not sure if I should play honestly yet or not. Might knock out some of my favorites to try and blend in and build friendships.

Clarence wrote:Our tribe is a mess.

People are running around with their heads cut off in several different threads and think they're doing one job when they're really not. Lex is awol. Our Leader just vanished the minute we figured out the puzzle. And we could lose the first challenge because of it.

I'm happy.

This is great.

Lex and Mama Kim are making themselves target and EVERYONE who is complaining about it is making an enemy out of the two of them. I'm just going to keep being positive. Hopefully more targets emerge before I screw something up.

Clarence wrote:I guess I would be more of a villain if playing the game to win makes people villainous. I've yet to make enough strong connections to see who'd most easily fall into my traps. That's still a worry. Only 3 or 4 people seem interested in working with me, the others... not a peep.

It's a very predictable outcome tonight, though!

But the password was really easy, so I don't know if he is the first to get it. I hope he did, he could use a hand.

Why the hell is he publicly helping people solve it?

I hope he actually found it and is just playing a ruse, but considering he was still browsing that forum and views on the thread didn't move at all...its not looking good for our man Clarence.

Clarence is kinda crazy, and that is why he posted that publicly.

Also completely unaware of his position on the tribal totem right now. Sure he has lots of deals in a few twos and a few trios, but the trouble is he just assumes none of those sets are aware of his deals with the other ones lol.

He actually has a decent gameplan mapped out of who he would use to take out other people, but it's also kind of the gameplan that everyone else has been feeding him. If he somehow makes the end game, I don't think he'll get any respect for his game. I hate to write off anyone this early, but I think winning outright is a step too far for Clarence. He's gonna need some big arc to take off between now and the end.

Some legitimate Clarence updates at Final eleven stage;

He is absolutely stressing over this new idol but no luck so far. Take away his 12 posts about that and the gist of his actual game is something like this;

Re: His Various one on ones and how they connect;
Gina is connected to Gabe
Pat and Gina agree on who to vote for
Sean is connected to Vecepia, they agree on who to vote for.
Lindsey and Linda are connected and they agree on who to vote for.
A consensus is usually made quite easily.

And I haven't, I don't think at least, pissed anyone off.

My hope is to get close to Sean/Vecepia, wait until the other people I'm alligned with bring up their names as targets, warn them, get them to use their idols to idol out whoever is a threat at that point, then once the idols are gone, target Sean, get him out of the way, then those who can beat me I'd target.

I'd try to go to the end with Vecepia, Linda, Lindsey, Gabriel, then take out Lindsey and Linda.

So, I need to work on building those alliances at the moment.

Everyone I'm currently aligned with can beat me. Obviously.

I even had people believing I voted for Kim J to stay, so If Im up against Vecepia/Gabe I'd have her vote.

So it's all about timing and winning at the right moments. I do need to win one soon to build up why I should win.

In Charge?

If anyone is in charge I'd have to think it would be Pat. Sean's gonna sink his own ship with his idols. Sarah is not long for the game.

And that's about everyone I think think's they're in charge of this game.

I can't get Pat out until I get Sarah out, then I'd have to wait until Gina goes, unless I could convince Sean to idol Pat out.

Sadly I don't have an idol because of Jeff's poor word choice and because I never had a clue to the old idols.

So, yeah. I think I'll have friends in the jury if I can build on these relationships, and win some challenges.

No more low balling it.

Don't worry buddy, no amount of clues would have helped you with the old ones.

He has a decent idea of what's going on. Except for the part where Sean has two idols...and he doesn't know about the 2 real idols.

That he does. He has a pretty good head for the bigger picture, but of course he's missing all the details like how people talk to each other too, and they know about his clashing deals icon_lol He's in a decent enough spot though, probably the "fringe player" who will last the longest. Which if he can manage that and realise where he is, suddenly he becomes a powerful vote as the big alliances begin to eat each other up.

I can see in confessionals all of Lex, Lindsey, Patty, and Gina pondering how to ensure Clarence is on their side for when they personally need to make a move..
