Hobbies

So what does everybody like to do? What are your interests and hobbies?

I do like to read every once in a while, but more so, I'm a huge cinephile. I LOVE to watch films and analyze them. I'm trying to watch every film on the 1001 Movies to See Before You Die list. :)
You could say I'm somewhat pretentious in this aspect haha.

I also like to go out and eat. I'm not a glutton by far, but I do enjoy trying new cuisine and experiencing new tastes. Unless I've been there dozens of times, I never get the same thing twice at a restaurant because there's always something new to try.

Last of all, I'm somewhat of a history buff. I enjoy a lot of Ancient and Medieval history, specifically European history, and even more specific, British history lol. I've been on a few trips to England that involved taking tours of dozens of cathedrals and historical sites. I would love to go back again!

Anyway, that's a little bit about me. :)
What about everyone else??

I'm a massive fan of all things science fiction. I've made a point to watch nearly every great sci-fi show of the past 20 years! But I also love shows like Big Brother, Survivor, and tons of other shows on CBS/NBC/ABC/CW/USA networks.

I'm currently attempting to write a novel. I suck at describing things, so that's going as expected. icon_chaos But I have a bunch of plot ideas and things that I'm going forward with at full steam, or at least procrastinating through a few thousands words a week. With this and BB15 coming up, I'm going to be hating myself and finding so many ways to procrastinate writing. I have this problem where I'll just go back and edit every single line until its perfect, go back and read the same line an hour later once I'm down two pages and still hate it, then hate the line after it and so forth. icon_laughing When I used to write online for fun, I never used to do that. Then I try this and I can't stop myself from self-editing.

Other than that, I love going to the movies. Star Trek Into Darkness in IMAX 3D with Cumberbatch was amazing. I hate that he didn't get even more screentime!

My top 3 favorite films: North by Northwest, Amazing Grace, and 12 Angry Men.
Randomly great movie: Tomorrow, When The War Began. Phoebe Tonkin goodness.

I'm really into all things musical. I love to sing and dance and I'm into a lot of that kinda stuff at school... I really like acting too even if I'm not all that good at it. I'm pretty big into musicals themselves and I've seen 3 on Broadway before - Hairspray, Anything Goes and Wicked. Pretty much the highlights of my life. icon_laughing I love love love listening to new music but overall my music taste is actually pretty generic. I'm huge into pop music more than anything else. Lady Gaga is my absolute favorite. I grew up on a lot of classic rock so I love that too.

Of course, I'm big into reality TV as well. I've always been an American Idol junkie, even now that the show has kinda gone "out of style." I love Survivor obviously. I'm huge on Big Brother. I've recently gotten really into The Voice. Aaaaand I also love America's Next Top Model. <3 Huge guilty pleasure.

I also love to read. Last summer I think I read something ridiculous like 15 books. Too much time on my hands? I didn't get to read much over the year because school work kept me really busy, haha. But I plan on getting back to reading a lot again this summer. There's nothing like getting yourself lost in a good book IMO.

Well im huge into Movies and Theater, I love acting and just got an agent so i hope to make a career out of it! I also write and (like Clarence) am writng a story, but mine is a screenplay! Favorite movies are Forrest Gump, Super 8, Titanic and The Breakfast Club. Sometimes i get so into movies that i will be on a date to the movies with a girl, and end up ignoring her so i can analyze and really pay attention to the characters and plot haha. I listen to a huge variety of music, like Buckethead, Two Steps From Hell, Mozart, Five Finger Death Punch, and Avenged Sevenfold to name a few.

Ironically im not a reality TV fan, just Survivor. I watched Amazing Race a few times in the past, but it faded off as time went on. I like reading but can rarley find a book that intrest me. The Hunger Games and The Long Walk are two that i absolutely loved.

Keep an eye out for the Gone Series, by Michael Grant. It is surprisingly similar to the Hunger Games books. I don't mean the theme (although yes, it does in bits) but the whole style of it got me. It is about how several different teens learn to adapt to rebuilding life when everyone over the age of fifteen disappears in a mystery phenomenon one day. And then of course, some other equally strange things start to happen..

Lord of the Flies meets Hunger Games meets X-Men? lol, you need to read it to follow me.

I'm a big fan of sports, especially baseball, rugby, and soccer. I play both avidly, and hopefully you'll see me playing for a big team in the future ;) Kim P, star pitcher for the San Francisco Giants.

I keep myself busy in between sports by studying, hanging with friends, and working. I also play video games when I can, and I have a dog that needs my constant attention (or maybe it's the other way around).

That's really all I can serve up in my palate. Of course I love survivor, not sure if you guys have heard of the show.

I'm a total nerd for the most part. Love a lot of sci-fi and fantasy stuff, particularly when it comes to novels. Novels I read are basically exclusively in that and then sometimes I get in the mood for a classic. But I don't read a lot of straight fiction normally. I read damn fast, but I take long breaks between reading periods. Like I will read 4 or 5 books in a month/6 weeks and then go a long time without reading anything. It's strange.

Films and tv series are also big things for me. TV is usually better for me if it is serialized, because I love longer stories <3. While I am attracted to fantasy and sci-fi there, it is nowhere near exclusive to that. My favorite shows ever include Game of Thrones, BattleStar Galactica, and 24. Revenge is also my FAVORITE guilty pleasure. Such a fantastic show. Maybe because it reminds me of Count of Monte Cristo a lot :). Movie wise I will literally see anything. It's hard for me to come up with favorites, other than the large impact Star Wars had on my life. Literally most of my fictional stuff I did in any media was Star Wars for the longest time <_<

I'm a big gamer too, though not as much as I used to be. I don't play a lot of games, but the ones I do, I play to death and back. And when I get a new game that I love, don't expect to hear from me for a very long time. Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is the best game of all time and I don't think that will ever be matched for me. Mass Effect 2 was fantastic, and the trilogy is probably my favorite series in games ever. Looking forward to PS4(fuck the Xbox One).

And I don't watch a lot of sports, but I get really into hockey during playoff time, and then I'm super into American football during the fall. My Sundays are spent on the couch doing nothing else. Always throw a fantastic Super Bowl Party every year too

(yes I actually do socialize at some points, believe it or not :P)

Lol, I do love me some Majora. It definitely has the best atmosphere of all the games. But Ocarina is my baby, I've played it dozens of times.

Opposite for me. I've played Majora's Mask at least 7 or 8 times, most I've ever played a game and it never gets old. Best atmosphere of any game I've played. Most attached I've felt to a game world. Great dungeons, even if there were only 4. Majora's Mask is the one time I think I have ever said I didn't play a game, I played a work of art.

It really is a great game, I'm can't knock it. Definitely a close second to Ocarina for me. The sense of dread with the moon falling is so dark and depressing. The Anju/Kafei love story is one of the best parts of the side quests!

I love to compete in things and get better at things. I play a lot of competitive games, especially League of Legends. I'm also a video game developer by trade, I can do all the components for a game: art, programming, sound and design. I do bodybuilding and did a bit of male modeling and because of this my day is pretty planned out with meals, supplements, etc. In my free time I watch a lot of TV series, a LOT of TV series. I'm always looking for new things to learn and compete in.

Favorite reality shows, anyone? Other than Survivor of course~ it's always weird to me because I feel like most Survivor fans aren't those who are typically drawn to other reality shows.

I'm not really drawn to many other reality shows. Before I got into Survivor the only thing I watched was The Amazing Race. The show I used to love though was The Mole!!!! OMG I wish that would come back on!!!

Yea, that one was the best one! Seasons 1 & 2 were on par with it. But the fourth and fifth seasons were so horrible!

TAR is one that I catch every so often because some seasons are great while others are just complete duds.
